Road Trip!
I am currently in Medina, Ohio, but listed my location as Anchorage, Alaska, because in a matter of days, my son and me are relocating to Anchorage! I have a teaching opportunity there. My dad and step-mom live there, and I have been there several times. It will take us about 6 days to drive there. Keagen is looking forward to seeing Grandpa and Oma (Grandma in German) but mostly he is excited to see their two Whippets, Tosca and Annie.

I taught in a bush village in Alaska for a year. I had my groceries mailed to me from Anchorage! I taught in the Lower Kusokwim School District.
ReplyDeleteThe area around Anchorage is gorgeous! I bet your son will enjoy it, too! I once went on an ice worm safari down by Portage Glacier on Byron Glacier--super cool for kids! Good luck!
You must be really excited about this move. I think it's wonderful you have family there. That should make some of the transition to life there easier and less lonely. I have friends who have gone to Alaska for the whale-spotting opportunities and said they loved it and thought Alaska was really beautiful. I hope you enjoy your move and congratulations!

ReplyDeleteGood luck in your new job! I would love to visit Alaska! Especially after watching "The Proposal" with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. The scenary is so breathtaking! Have a safe trip!
